The sky in this picture has been described by others as ‘Turner-esque’. It was a fantastic experience to witness the cloud build and wonderful under-lighting intensify from a slight pink tinge, to this peak when the reds were most dominant. The calm water at the entrance to the Lymington River amplifies the drama still further.
At the time, I was more than a little concerned with weather adage of ‘red sky in the morning, sailor’s warning’ because it was dawn on the day my daughter Josie was to receive her GCSE results. A few hours later my fears were allayed!
