A gentle but colourful image from a dream island. This image of the colours of the setting sun on the pools of water in the sand, is one to calm and soothe. Made on the beach at Seilebost on the Isle of Harris, a dream of islands on a dream island.

An image inspired by the wonderful images by Seurat, where pinpoints of colour sat side by side to create a sensation of flow and harmony. Growing up, we had a Seurat print of The Canal of Gravelines - yachts in a harbour in a dreamy sea and sky with puffy clouds. I would look at it from a distance and then up close and get a different sensation each time the light hit the surface.

About My Work

A Note on Canvases
Your canvas will have 1.5 - 2 inches of white border for use by the framer in stretching round the sides of your frame. Once ready, they are carefully wrapped in acid free tissue then shipped in a sturdy art tube to ensure safe delivery.
