Sea swimming – 30-07-20
One of those days. Sold something around midnight, did my regular things like website maintenance, teaching, eating and returning to my work in progress. Bullocks! Forgot my rucksack at the shopping mall. Back again, nowhere to be found. Lost: my mind, a drawing WIP and my camera. There you have it. Second half with your soul under your arm.
Then again, my rucksack could be upgraded and so my camera. 15 minutes later and € 1.500 poorer I had to start anew and I had such a great graphite pencil drawing progressing. Having uncorked a bottle of wine and opening up a can of sugar coated peanuts I turn to a succesful recipy: accentuate the positive and start a new drawing. Something quick to rub off the forlorn and perhaps such times evoke new ways to wander.
I bought black paper in the past and now was the time to do a pastel. I remembered I found a swimming East German (!) nude from the late 1950s. A kind of Körperkultur reminiscent. Since these times were communist and communists tend to be social I am convinced they won’t file a law suit because of copyright infringement. Anyway, life in one day. Something for the better, something for the worse. By the way, how was your day?
