Artwork description:

Seaspray is a one plate reduction Linocut.

This means that one piece of Lino has the design drawn on to it, once a colour is printed that part of the image is carved away using tools, then the next colour is printed and the process is repeated until the image gradually appears.

Seaspray was printed 11 times and uses 13 colours of printing ink. Some process photos have been included for you to see.

The inspiration for this print came from photographs I took whilst in Carmel by the Sea, California.

The image is approximately 20.5cm x 30.6 cm, and is printed onto heavyweight Italian Fabriano printing paper measuring approximately 27cm x 37cm. The inks used are artist quality matt inks.
