READY to hang..oil on canvas . The Sea of Marmara (Marble) is in Turkey and connects the Agean and Black seas. During a ferry trip from Istanbul I saw this vision of a sparkling turquoise sea in afternoon near a fishing village. Looking at this lone fisherman on the incredibly beautiful sea made me momentarily wonder if I would be better off staying and adopting his uncomplicated life. The thought of having to learn fishing + Turkish which seems like a very difficult language, made me decide otherwise.
The Sea of Marmara is an intimidating subject due to the minimalism, crazy light and the colors. I waited nearly a year before tackling it. I decided to stay with a smaller size in case it turned out to be too challenging.
