A surrealistic interpretation of the Biblical account of the miracle of Jesus walking on water. (I have certainly taken some creative license here to increase the drama.)
After some research into the Sea of Galilee, a wave of this size without rain is possible. The Sea of Galilee is 700 feet below sea level and warmed by the beating sun. Surrounded by a mountain range that reaches to 4000 feet above sea level and generates a high atmosphere of cold air. This combination creates sudden, violent gusts of powerful winds. The strong winds roar down and whip the sea into a torrent of large waves and high winds.
The Bible records the disciples could not row against the storm. Their boat has crested a large wave and has begun to slide down the backside. Oars can be seen through the spray. The wooded mast and cross spar forms a symbolic cross that John clings to. Thomas can be seen pulling on a line to keep the mast upright. Peter has not stepped out of the boat yet but pulls hard on his oar toward Jesus. In these pre-dawn hours, Jesus is seen calmly walking up a wave toward His disciples.
