Title: Sea Mist I

Wandering the cliffs on a soft misty November morning, the sun on the water blushing through a gauzy lilac mist beckoning a tranquil day.

This image was made near our home at Ellishadder on the Isle of Skye. Here, the black face sheep live on the edge of the cliffs with only small, rickety fences to keep them from straying. On clear days we have a panoramic view of the tiny islands of Rona and Raasay and over to the mainland but, sometimes, it is nice to have no view at all and simply bathe in the colours of the soft morning mist.

This will be printed on beautiful, lightly textured Canson Arches Velin fine art paper which has the look and feel of watercolour paper. It has a generous white border with the Title, print number and signature.

About My Work
I believe in giving my clients beautiful artwork on luxury papers that hold their colours for a lifetime! For these special prints of my work I use dreamy, light textured Canson Canvas and the highest quality inks. I do all my own printing, having spent years learning this skill I prefer to maintain control of the colour representation at all stages to ensure you get a truly handmade image.

About My Materials
People often say that my images look like paintings because of the richness of the colours, the depth of the black and the texture of the materials I use. Canson are one of the oldest paper manufacturers in the world, they have been making paper for over 450 years in France. Founded in 1557 and printers to Louis XVI, their paper was used by Voltaire and Napoleon and the Montgolfier brothers used Canson paper to make the first hot air balloon. Canson paper was used by Picasso, Ingres, Chagal, Miro and many other artists. They have been making paper and canvas for photography since this art began over 150 years ago. Canson are Eco Friendly - they purchase paper pulp only from forests managed in a sustainable way which also makes them pretty special.
