Sitting at the harbour, watching the boats and the seagulls… listening to the sound of the rippling water. Isn’t that a soothing memory of holidays gone by?

I created this monotype on a very large home made gellatine plate. I had to work fast to prevent the paint from drying. This keeps me alert and makes me work more intuïtively. The monotype is ready to place in a frame with glass of your own choice.
 By registering neatly and working cleanly, I was able to print three layers of paint over each other. I used high quality acrylic paint (Golden Open) which created very vivid and very vibrant colors.

Printing gives me the pleasure of surprise. It always turns out different than expected. This triggers new ideas. My monoprints often consist of multiple layers of paint printed on top of each other. After the printing process I also draw or paint on the prints again.
