I've created this work accidentally in an unusual for a watercolor technique way.
At first I painted an abstract background, it was a very emotional process. Water and paint were flowing like a river. I washed the paint off and put on the color again and again, until it hit me that it must be the ocean. I felt like this ocean needed a whale. I wanted to show the fading beauty of this species. That is why the whale is depicted as if it swims out of the depths. He is transparent, fading and he is beautiful.
Created on watercolor paper from 100% cotton.
Dimensions:
76*56 cm
29,9*22 inch
