Original artwork description:

The painting began with a drawing made on location near East India E14 in London. The drawing I made on a windy day had a lot of energy and I picked up on how the flyover of the Docklands Light Railway swooped down from the top left into the middle of the distance between some substantial tower blocks. There was a fenced-off car park that created a corner coming towards the place I stood, pushing out towards me with wild growing buddleia, protruding through the security fencing. Some dogs were on the loose and chasing each other excited by the fresh wind, I introduced a figure in the composition that took up the energy and tension in the space.

Materials used:

oil paint
