“Scherzo” is an Italian word which means something hilarious and light. And this is what the painting is: a small, colourful artwork which represents a joyful moment of creativity. The artwork is a combination of two different painting techniques: the hand, in the foreground, which is realistic and very detailed, and the background, expressionist and gestural.
I painted this “scherzo” as part of a series of studies on the painting techniques. The artwork is stretched on a wood canvas and ready to hang.
