Original artwork description:

BUILT OVER 2,000 FEET ABOVE sea level into a vertical cliff face on Italy’s Mount Baldo in front of Valdadige. The Santuario Madonna della Corona (Sanctuary of the Lady of the Crown) looks as though it is nearly suspended in mid-air.

I painted this picture in impasto technique, with the palette knife to add volume and energy to this oil painting.
