This painting is an improvisation in line and colour, its forms and lines suggest microscopic life, arabesques, psychedelic vistas or visual music. Some of the shapes are influenced by calligraphy, glyphs, or the symbols of musical manuscript. The lines and shapes in the painting all respond to one another, and work together to create a rhythm across the painted surface of the work. The restless energy, multiple layering and eclecticism of the painting might evoke the simultaneity of different times and places.
