Original artwork description:

This was originally going to be a painting in my "Vampires Of Venice" series and there was going to be the shadowy figure of a vampire on the bridge but I realised that the size of the painting was too small to properly paint a figure so I left it out. This could be anywhere in Venice not just in the Santa Croce Sestiere, it's a common sight to see the backs of buildings like these dimly lit as you walk around. I was experimenting with monochromatic glazes with this series this one uses a mix of Burnt Sienna and Violet.
