Sanday lives a peaceful life on his remote Orkney croft. His home is full of glimpses into past, with fascinating history dating back to the Neolithic. Sanday’s croft is home abundant wildlife. He loves the sound of the curlew and lapwing in spring time. Being an Orkney islander, Sanday is quite a creative type. He is the arty personality in the cow paintings in this collection launched in October 2021 “Highland cows of Scottish islands”. I used a brush and palette knife to give him some colourful textures on his face and a thick rose-coloured fringe. I painted Sanday with the best quality artists acrylic paint on a luxury 4mm thick canvas board. He is sold unframed. However, I think he would look fantastic framed in a natural wood tray frame/floating frame. The painting measures 20.4 x 20.4cm (8 x 8 inches).
