This is a portrait of Sam Cooke whilst singing. This painting brings to life his smooth passionate voice by his expression whilst singing. The smokey backdrop gives the insight to the birth of soul music in this vastly different world where you'd be able to smoke in the record studio. Also the smoke comes from behind the microphone though as if his vocals are that passionate and hot.
