A mule grazing, backdropped by the peak of Salkantay peering out above the clouds. Having carried equipment and food for us all day a rest was well deserved. This is from when we were trekking towards Machu Picchu in the Cuzco Region, Peru. We were off-season as it was in the rainy period so the trail was more or less completely empty save the traffic by the local Quechua people.
