‘Sakura Sunrise’ is an original hummingbird painting by British artist Sian Storey.

A square canvas sized at 80 x 80cm and 5cm depth, Sian used acrylic and spray paint to create this beautiful and vivid painting. The energising colours of purple, yellow, hot pink and gold provide a backdrop that bursts into life against the soothing colours of the hummingbirds which appear to dance in flight.

The gold spray paint catches the light with a shimmering effect.

The painting is signed by the artist Sian Storey on the front and reverse, and will be a stunning addition to your art collection.

Sian is continually inspired by the sheer beauty of hummingbirds and their symbolism of hope. On this painting, she's surrounded them with vibrant blooms and blossoms that cascade down the painting. Sian has used the peaceful mandala symbol to represent harmony and eternity.

The title ‘Sakura Sunrise’ alludes to the hope that the change of season brings, as well as the gentle warmth of spring, and the cycle of life itself. The birds are flying in unison in the most beautiful flower garden.

‘Sakura Sunrise ’ was painted during spring 2019 in Sian Storey’s studio in Hampshire. Using acrylics and spray paint, you'll see detailed, delicate brushwork and beautiful mists of spray paint.

Sian paints in layers, as seen in the intricate stencil technique of the background and rich acrylic paint of the hummingbirds and blossoms. The spray paint is used to diffuse edges and lines, creating a hazy, dreamy finish.
