Original artwork description:
This oil painting on a linen canvas was started on location in Saint-Mandrier. I then completed it in my studio with the help of a watercolor I had made in the same place. Saint-Mandrier-sur-Mer is a commune in the Var department in southeastern France, not far fromToulon. It's a little fishing port tucked into a small inlet. In this work I tried to capture the late afternoon light on houses and boats standing out against a dark stormy sky. The traditional boats moored there are used for coastal fishing. They are called 'pointus' because of their shape. This work is ready to hang and perfectly framed (see photo)
