This watercolor represents the upper part of the village of Saint-Guilhem le Désert, classified among the most beautiful villages in France. Wecan see Gellone Abbey, a treasure of Languedoc Romanesque art, founded more than a thousand years ago in the heart of the Hérault Gorges (south of France). The village grew up around it . In the background we can see the vertiginous cliffs of the 'Cirque de l'Infernet'. The vegetation in the foreground already has autumn colors. This watercolour was made in-situ at the end of September 2024 on Arches 100% cotton 300g paper. This work is perfectly framed (see photo) and ready to hang.
