"Sailing the Blue" is an abstracted aerial seascape that may impress you as a lone sailboat in a turquoise ocean. It may be just off the shoreline of a rocky coast, or a coral reef.
Many layers of thinly laid acrylic paint over collaged papers result in a depth of surface and luminous quality. When the painting part is mostly finished I use materials such as cut paper, mat board corrugated cardboard, textured paint scraps and other miscellaneous altered objects or materials for additional descriptive textural elements. Oil pastel highlights are added at the end and the process is finished with a clear acrylic varnish for surface protection
