On a trip to the Sahara regions, I came across an antique postcard depicting a young woman with a baby , as a Madonna and Child. Back in Italy I painted an abstract and after it was finished I realized that they were the colors of my memory of another woman with child that I had seen on the edge of the desert, it seemed natural to me to insert the woman of the postcard. It’s as if you took a piece of history and immersed it in a kaleidoscope of colors, memories and modern forms, creating a visual contrast and a dialogue between past and present
