Original artwork description:

As many of you may know I don’t paint birds very often, but when I do it’s normally a self-projection.
Hope we all have the safe landing that we want in the turbulence.
Affirmation: Strengthen yourself with love in uncertain times.
Rainbow lorikeets, Australian native birds, feed mainly on fruit, pollen and nectar, often travel together in pairs, occasionally respond to calls to fly as a flock, then disperse again into pairs.
From where I live in Bayswater, there is a big field of forest nearby my studio.
My creating process normally start from a short walk into the woods, touching the texture of the tree barks, feeling the sunlight reflecting on the leaves and grasses.
I then collect whatever I found during the walk as inspiration. There's only one rule for my collecting process, never take from the living tree/life.
I collect what had fallen only, and those are the gift from the nature of the day for me.
In a quite sunny morning, I walked into the woods to my usual spot for daily meditation before my painting session, there’s this little fellow landing in front of me on a tree branch.
I often accompanied by lots of cockatoos, magpies and kookaburras sometimes during the walk.
Therefore, I was quite surprised to see this colourful lorikeet in my area. This beautiful friend stayed with me for a while, and then flew back to its pair.
I captured the sight with my eyes and camera but couldn’t forget the magical moment of how elegant and powerful the colourful lorikeet landing before me. It’s a peaceful and delightful scene to enjoy.
I captured this beautiful friend with my paint brushes and canvas, worked in my studio for quite sometimes and finally have it completed today.
I would like to share the beautiful moment with you and hope this artwork pass you good vibes too.
