At the mouth of the Dee Estuary are a group of tidal islands called Little Eye, Middle Eye and the largest island Hilbre. The Islands are cut off from the mainland by the tide for up to four hours out of every twelve.
It is possible to visit the islands if crossing before high water but walkers are advised to take the safe route across which is the inspiration for this piece. If trying to cross directly to the islands you are likely to encounter deep channels and quicksands which are very dangerous.
The paintng has white painted sides so no need for framing and has been signed on the side. It is also fitted with D rings and chord so is all ready to hang.
mixed media on box canvas
