Sacrifice is a painting that relates to one of the basic rituals established and practiced by humans already in the dawn of the human culture. The act of sacrificing has its psychological purpose and role too, more precisely the freeing of the psyche from the connections with the objects and thus retrieving the libido back into the subject.
According to C.G. Jung the act of sacrificing oneself would be possible only if one is already in possession of one's self.
