SACRED AND PROFANE - digital on forex panel cm.60x80
I have created a series of preeminently surrealist works concerning the ‘SACRED AND PROFANE’ with explicit references to late medieval mysticism in which female bodies, naked, marked by instruments of suffering, are clearly visible. Also in this work, the sacrifice of a woman is exalted, hung on a cross in place of Christ. The whole representation is shocking, provocative. This of mine is yet another forcing to completely break with the hieratic tradition of the supernatural: treating the divine separately from the profane. On the other hand, what other pretext is there for me to grab the viewer's attention, if not the shocking transgression from the usual way of conceiving the sacred in human history?
