This peaceful and mysterious artwork was created using many subtle layers of oil paint to build depth and atmosphere, and give the impression of the deep water of the lake, leading to the trees and hills in the distant landscape.

A second interpretation of 'Waterton Park Lake', this oil painting delves deeper into the landscape, composition and colours of the original piece. Creating a second version of a painting is always a fascinating exercise, as it forces you to re-examine the decisions you made, and to unpick the layers of techniques employed.

Painted on a gesso primed, mounted wood panel. The edges of this artwork are painted white (please see additional photograph). It is signed and dated on the back and comes with a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

Please note: Due to the subtle layering of the paintwork, it is quite hard to take an accurate photograph of the tones of this artwork. In a cool north light it can appear 'bluer'. However, the main photograph gives the best indication of tone.
