I'd considered doing a series of paintings of an F1 car at the start of a race, but in the style of an artist or artists from the country that the race was being held in. The chance to try this out came with the challenge to create a piece in the style of Wassily Kandinsky.
So how to use the essence or the inner necessity of the pioneer of abstract art, and a fellow Sagittarian, who also moved around a lot. I chose his abstract style from the early 1900s - a time of the invention of the motor car. It was necessary to break-down the components of the car and the start to decide what had to be left out.
It also reminded me I have his essay On the Spiritual in Art from 1914 to read.
This is another from the Art Challenge between a group of artists who got to know each other in and around Hereford. Setting challenges for each other, either based on an artistic style, medium or subject.
