A diminutive wren momentarily rests on a twig. This flighty bird is hard to catch still for long so I hope this painting will offer you a longer gaze at her lovely feathers and famous tail

I loved painting her rusty back and wing plumage with drybrush to create some little ruffles here and there. The twig is part pencil drawn and part watercolour giving this a sketchy and immediate feel.

The paper is the superb quality 100% cotton Saunders Waterford with excellent archival quality so this painting will lasy for decades..
