Original artwork description:

This popular winter sport area in Tyrol, Austria contains an abundance of life and colour in summertime. The valley is dominated by its rushing river in that glacial turquoise colour that is so typical for this mountain region. Flanked by green slopes leading up to the Stubai glacier, this valley captured my heart on this sunny day. Accompanied by the sound of the river which inspired the title of this painting, I set up to paint in my car because thundery showers were forecast. As I was painting, it was “rush hour” in the Stubai Valley” as a herd of cows plodded by, holding up the tourist traffic;-)

“Rushing water, Stubai Valley” was painted on 650g rough, mould-made Fabriano watercolour paper using Windsor and Newton paints. It comes with a warm white mount to fit a standard frame size of 60x40cm and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity signed by the artist. If you like this painting, you might want to take a look at the rest of my series of Tyrol paintings too.
