Inspired by the name of the creature on the Fairground ride, "Ruby"; I painted the whole thing in ruby red, but because fairgrounds generally glitter, I added gilding to bring out the sense of the brightness of the fair. This picture is painted on canvas. It is in a gilded frame which sets it off nicely. The Fairground was in Hull, Yorkshire.
