This is one of my first photographic pigment encaustic transfers. Using one of my photographs, which was digitally manipulated on my iPad, I transferred it to a panel coated with encaustic (bees) wax. The photo was burnished (pressed into the wax) and the pigment fused with the wax. The paper was then soaked with water and rubbed away, leaving the pigment infused in the upper layer of wax. I then added more wax and oil paint to enhance the aged effect. Some people would call this an "Encaustic Photo Transfer" but there is debate in the Encaustic World about this terminology.
