Painted en plein air in two sessions at Rowallane Garden in County Down Northern Ireland in the summer of 2022. I was attracted to this view because of strong shadows on the stone urn ornament and the abstract and architectural shapes of the foliage and their reflections in the pond. Although the shadows were strong they were also light in tone because the light was bouncing of the path.
