Lorelei – 12-07-18
I always tell my students that art is about seeing one thing in another, just like tasting wine and describing it by comparing to something completely different than wine itself, like chocolate, red fruit, etc. As to this Shakespeare did not much different by writing: “Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day”. When I saw this model, I saw her sitting on a sea bed with waving hair and together with my esteemed colleague Mirjam of Studio Brugman I fantasized about mermaids, hence the title ‘Lorelei’. One thing leads to another.
