Roundism – 08-05-18
I found this great reference picture on which the model was heavily backlit, distorting her figure in the centre of it. That was the starting point of finding abstract forms, almost like a translucent structure. I added a more cheakier smile and of course a cat. The main thing however was to find a way of arranging diagonals and horizontal / vertical structures – straight and curved into a compelling composition regardless of the figurative meaning of it all.
Graphite pencil drawing (Pentel 0.5 mm, 3B) on Strathmore Bristol paper (21 x 29.7 x 0.1 cm) - A4 format)
