The subject is a slumped road above the ocean near Eureka in Northern California. It felt a bit precarious. This print has the distinction of being my first linocut. Started a decade earlier and then stuck in a drawer; it was finally cut and printed in 2017. The block was too old, so getting a perfect print was not in the cards. But the irregularities match the subject.
This artwork is hand printed from linoleum blocks (plates) on archival printmaking paper, using oil-based inks. The linoleum blocks are hand cut. Each separate color requires its own block. 3 colors. Maximum image size: 6" x 4" Overall paper size: 8" x 6"
This edition is limited to 20 copies, and each print is numbered, titled and signed by the artist. Each print is considered an original, and can vary slightly from the others. 2017
My print(s) are carefully packaged between multiple sheets of cardboard, matboard and padding, insured to the value of the artwork, and shipped via USPS.
Francis Stanton retains all copyright to the artwork. The copyright does not transfer with the sale of this print.
