A friend of mine has a wonderful rose garden from which I benefit every Spring. I noticed an arrangement similar to this, one morning in her foyer. The painting is an homage to the styles in which Eduard Manet and Henri Fantin-Latour liked to paint. The frame is a gold color plein aire style with sides painted black.
