From my SUMMER FLOWERS series:
The month of May is half way between spring and Summer. My “Summer Flowers” is a series of individual plant studies of flowers that come into bloom between the months of April and June. My attention focuses on the plant itself in all it’s glory, paying particular attention to the hues and textures of the leaves and petals. Each vein and fold rendered in luxuriant detail from the deepest indigos and richest crimsons to the most vibrant ambers against a charcoal background is to be savoured in these decorative little gems.
