I came upon this patch of Rosebay Willowherb in early August. The morning light was catching the fluffy seedheads creating a perfect backdrop for the hogweed.
Willowherb is sometimes known as the Fire Weed - no wonder - its leaves take on beautiful fiery tones once the flowers have started to fade. I caught this patch in the midst of change - the odd flower still clinging on, seedheads opening to reveal their white fluffy feathers and the odd leaf showing a taste of it's Autumn colour scheme.
The painting is supplied rolled in a tube.
