This exotic fruit comes from the Far East - mostly from Malaysia - and is not an apple at all. It belongs to the myrtle family. The rather smooth, shiny skin of the rose apple and the grained skin of the orange stand in stark contrast to the black and green background, making the colors shine even more intensely.
