This painting is from a series titled, “Roots,” which emerged during the winter months. I draw inspiration from flowers and having none in the winter to inspire, I focused onto what often cannot be seen. In this series, I wondered about what could bloom depending on the roots, in a metaphorical way. If the roots were dying, could there be a bloom? If there was trauma in the history of the roots, what would bloom if anything? If there was uprooting and replanting what would bloom?

Painting is frames in a 22" x 30" Metal frame is made from extremely rigid and high-quality aluminum with a decorative, durable, corrosion-resistant color finish. The frame comes with Clear Framing Grade Acrylic that offers beautiful clarity at half the weight of glass and many times the impact resistance. Additionally, it blocks some ultraviolet light.
