In this tranquil scene, I sought to capture the essence of a quiet village at dusk, blending techniques from both impressionism and realism with oil paints. The textured strokes evoke the rustic charm of the rooftops and lush, enveloping greenery, creating a harmonious interaction between man-made structures and nature’s expanse. This piece embodies the peaceful retreat from daily bustle, inviting the viewer into a serene, timeless landscape. It would bring a sense of calm and groundedness to any home. I painted this view from the round window of the Church of the Archangel Michael in Chamzinka. Then when he was painting the temple, being in the woods. The motive fascinated me at once. A beautiful perspective opened up with a clear rhythm of the roofs of the houses.
