I painted this scene using my plein air study, done on location at the Garden Of the Gods park.
It’s widely known that Colorado Springs is an outdoor enthusiast’s dream given its close proximity to the Rocky Mountains. The city sits in the shadow of America’s Mountain, Pikes Peak, and also home to Garden of the Gods Park, which is a registered National Natural Landmark. Imagine dramatic views, 300' towering sandstone rock formations against a backdrop of snow-capped Pikes Peak and brilliant blue skies.
