This plein air artwork was painted on location, at China Cove in Point Lobos Nature Reserve near Carmel-by-the-Sea in California. I was inspired by the beautiful light and blindingly bright reflections on the water in the distance beyond the foreground cliffs surrounding the cove. Materials information: professional quality oil paint on oil-primed Claessens Belgian linen on 1/8 MDF archival art panel, the back of the panel finished with melamine that prevents warping and deterioration. Painting surface is protected with a coat of Gamvar varnish. The painting is unframed, it will easily slot into a standard (USA) 11"x14" frame.
