Artwork description:

The etching ‘Rockpools’ was inspired by the countless rock pools you can find at low tide all along the Sussex coast.
Rockpool’s seem to have their own biology and rules. They hold a variety of life within and are utterly dependent on the tides coming and going. Like all living creatures of the coasts, they are effected by the warmer sea and the changing climate.
To me rockpools are a fascinating source of inspiration.
With this etching I wanted to capture the floating nature and uniqueness of theses pools. In my imagination they are small complex 'worlds in their own right'. I hope to inspire the viewer's own mind to find a narrative in the shapes, forms and textures of this etching.

The prints are made from two steel plates, handprinted by me in my studio on acid free printmaking paper in a small edition of 10.
The image size is 60x40cm with a paper margin of 7cm all around.

Materials used:

Paper, printing inks, steel etching plate

About
My etchings can be described as semi-abstract landscapes of vibrant colours, with wriggling lines, floating hills, beaches and seascapes and imaginative interpretations of subjects of interest. The inspiration and motivation... Read more
