This is the companion piece to “CheckMates”; this painting has a a Vintage, Childlike Feel to it. The Harlequin Costume was inspired by Picasso’s many Paintings and drawings depicting Harlequins, done during the “Rose Period” in his career, after the Spaniard had visited Italy. The Rocking Horse pictured here purposely Replicate those Wooden rocking Horses dating from The early part of the 1900’s. This canvas is painted around the edges so it can be hung, unframed.
