Continuing my obsession with ice lollies, I've finally painted a Rocket lolly. This classic icon of British summertime, also sometimes called a Zoom lolly, is a sweet iced rocket-shaped treat layered in three colours, yellow, orange, and red from top to bottom. They're pretty much a staple of ice cream vans and summer so they make a natural addition to my range of bright and bold pop art paintings.

As usual the emphasis is on colourful graphic impact rather than realism, and the object is set against my trademark light blue background.

The end result is a colourful painting that would brighten up any room in your home, or would make an ideal gift for someone with a sweet tooth.

It is painted in acrylics on thick high quality A4 paper. PLEASE NOTE: the painting doesn't come framed, but I've taken photos of it in a white A4 frame for display purposes. A4 frames are easy to find however.

I've been inspired to create work like this by classic pop artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein and Patrick Caulfield.
