The British robin is a delightful little bird to watch. It has much less fear of humans than most birds and likes to spend time with a gardener, collecting worms as the soil becomes disturbed. It does not migrate so can be seen throughout the year, and is a particularly welcome visitor to any garden in the winter with its bright orangey red plumage, which shows up well against the drab winter vegetation and, particularly, in the snow.
