One of a series of portraits based loosely on Victorian photos.

This one is of the famous chorus girl and artist's model Evelyn Nesbit. In a time when a photo takes no more than a thought and a click of a cell phone, the Victorian portrait, with it's laborious process and equipment seems impossibly romantic.

I work loosely from the photo, borrowing the expression and sometimes the dress of the sitter. I try to capture the feel of the photograph while modernizing it with contemporary art practices to give it new life.

This was made with oils, found objects, vintage fabric, gold foil, inks, and lots of love.
Comes signed and ready to hang on a 14"x18"canvas.
