On a walk from the village of Rodmell to the river Ouse i came a across these weedy looking flowers with pale stalkes and pale green leaves and dainty little blue flowers. I took some close-up photos and later in the studio I painted a series of paintings in quick succession which resulted in the drips and splashes of paint you find in this painting.
